Narwhals Come Forth

A friend of a friend I once knew just would not believe Narwhals existed, admittedly they are rather odd and this was in the days before the interweb, I thought of this chap as I did this. I wonder if he's still in denial? This turned out to be a real pain to do, been trying to use some fancy tinted paper I bought a while back but gives me a real headache every time I use it (Fabriano tiziano pastello).
I did give up on this in disgust, but for some reason went back to it and here it is.. in all its glory.. I used pastel pencils for colour and a 2 b pencil for the initial sketch. I had problems getting the sea to look dark enough so added contrast and a border with picasa and a tint with gimp.
