Description

A type VII U-boat drawing on some newly acquired A2 size paper (a bit of a test try really) must admit did this very quickly for me around an hour, can really cover the paper fast with pastel and chalk and it was fun drawing quick squiggles and splash marks.
A clip to help with the mood I was going for www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATEjQh… from one of the best war films ever made in my opinion Das Boot. I added Otto Kretschmer's en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Kre… lucky horse shoe emblem to the side of my boat too. :D

Materials used A2 cartridge paper with charcoal ,chalk and grey pastels.

Great job. The contrast of gray-tones and the flow is very good. The bow and stern lines to the conning tower help draw the eyes in around the photo and see the sub. The only critique I can say is that the men shown seemed to be in a sort of halo.
I can appreciate the wanting to have the characters be crisp; but it does have the "halo" none the less.
I liked how you did the sea spray.
This is a very well done and well thought out piece. One I will be happy to put in my collection of favorites.
