Visions of Antarctica

Description

Another attempt at painting here with an Antarctic themed landscape. Along the way I decided to add a small pod of killer whales as a point of interest and they seemed fitting for the feel I was going for. I had some problems taking an accurate photo of this painting, my camera seems to overdo the blues and make everything a bit too bright, but well this is the best I can do for now.

This is on a 50 x 38 cm canvas frame in acrylic paint.

This is absolutely gorgeous. I especially love the seamless blend of the lighter bluish-white of the icebergs and ice flows to the darker bluish-black of both the starry sky overhead and the cold antarctic sea below. Very artistic and professional in my view. The added whales, I'm assuming they're Orcas, also add a nice touch, showing that even in such a seemingly inhospitable, barren land, life can and will thrive, which adds even more beauty and hope to the painting. I especially love the bluish aura which rises in the far background up all the way into the sky. In my view, it makes this painting seem almost magical, like we're in some mystic fantasy realm out of Lord of the Rings or The Chronicles of Narnia as opposed to an actually place on Earth. In conclusion, very cool, no pun intended!
